DEADBEATS ARRGG!!!

Postby sanosuke on Wed Feb 13, 2008 12:00 am

I know this is an unsolvable issue and I guess this is just a rant, but is there NOTHING we can come up with for all these bloody deadbeats!? Maybe a new rule of "If you deadbeat 2 games your IP is banned from CC" or something! I have had a stead 30+ active games and 75% of those have 1-3 deadbeats in them!! If I were to make a play on all my games in 1 sitting, then walk about for 24 hours I wouldn't miss 1 turn for all the deadbeats in my games and in the case of about 3 or 4 of those games where I have minimum 2 deadbeats, I'd have to wait another 24-48 hours just for the deadbeats to miss their first turn..

Sorry for the post, but I HAD to get that off my chest. Its just pathetic and this post (negative parts of it) is not directed at CC in any way. ^_^

You can do that in any non-speed game, due to the 24hrs between turns...
Deadbeats can be frustrating, but I find it less about the time to take a turn, and more about potentially screwing up your strategy...

The issue is solved..Deadbeats lose points and in a speed game don't matter.
Highest Rank 4th.

Oh no, deadbeats in a speed game don't make a difference to me...5 mins is 5 mins either way...as for them losing points, what's the point?! I can understand about the people who have actually played before, but the main fustration this is pointed to are the new players who join a game or 4, see they have to wait, say "screw this" and never come back!

maybe set the rule if a 100% new player (0 played 0 won) joins a game and misses first turn (after all they get email notifications and 24 friggin hours to make the play) then they get kicked after the first miss instead of 3rd. Since we cannot specifiy when we make a game certain ranks, I think this would be a nice option.

While it is annoying, I haven't experienced 75% deadbeating in my games... before I upgraded to premium it used to really annoy me, but since upgrading, it doesn't bother me so much...

With premium, you can play as many games as you like, whenever you like... if you want to play more turns, join some more games!

agreed! only problem is that I'm planning on being out of internet range for possibly 1-2 months and I know I'll miss turns, so I'm trying not to join any more games except for speed when I'm online. I just think there could be something we could do with all the 0 played 0 won deadbeat newbies popping up is all.
