Also remember the dice do not pick and chose, they are both "random" and "fair". They can't decide the fate of a player, and certainly don't prevent players from winning. (They are not alive and would be ridiculous to think so) So technically it is possible to lose 100 men to one and then do it again on the next turn, but these chances whether they be big or small are the same for everybody. Therefore, as Afitz said, they are random. (see
http://www.random.org) and as wcaclimbing said, they are fair, since everybody has the same chances of getting a six or a one as the next player.
