Or do you have error trapping for that?

When did that start happening?

Yeah, the problem can definitely be caused by a corrupt game log or a log that never returns. I need to speak to Lack now.

Server bins the request if it takes longer than 30 seconds.

He introduced that with the partial log loading.

When was that?

Ok, I can work around that if this is the cause.

Approx - Thu Mar 06, 2008 6:07 pm - another case of Lack torpedoing BOB without warning!!!

(This was when I had to rush out a fix for the logs - a few fixes later were also needed!) So this date is approximate.

March?

Something has happened recently - I haven't needed to do status checking so far so will still need to interrogate Lack to see
if there are any recent clues. Status checking would be more robust anyway so I'm going to throw a modified script at hwhrhett and paradice and see what happens. I'm also worried that perhaps the newer games have some problem with some of their logs like galapagos for example or Drugs War.

Could it just be that you've not noticed it before?

I'm relying on feedback here. I wasn't even a member in March, so if I am all of a sudden getting similar reports
from people who are historically very good at feedback, then I'm tempted to guess it's something new.
Doesn't mean that it isn't what you have suggested, but I need to do perhaps some investigation in parallel also.

For example , an error in the xml/logs for new maps may cause a longer loop in the server code when generating a log, that's something I would be discussing.

Ok?

I've always said it hangs randomly for me... - But running it again sorts it out...

It's a typical - my cars got an intermittent fault issue.

In my games etc where you have the medals by names etc...

You could make these clickable - so that it then loaded game finder with the settings...

i.e. player1 (you) player2 (them) "Completed" and "Medal".

Suppose could also be done on the maps screen with the numbers?

i.e. player1 (you) "Completed" and "Map"/"Type".

Thoughts?

Love it.

Relative rank for teammates?

I think the input is case sensitive? Could that be the problem?

I'm seeing something really FUBAR with this script today, and I'm not quite sure why. I'm getting a result of +91 points, with 155 wins in 1265 games and a whopping 778 missing logs. In reality, I've got 400 wins and have obviously gained a few more than 91 points.

People, I have been monitoring reports of Map Rank being screwed for some people.

At the moment not yet received enough info to solve the problem, so I need someone who can repeatedly see the problem and
can help make minor changes to their version for debugging to help out as I just cannot reproduce this.
(I'll need to talk through this)

TIA

If you are having any weird problems, the minimum you should try before concluding it is a problem is:

1. Full rescan. Uncheck Rank and Points. Run Map Rank . Check Rank and Points. Run Map Rank
2. Uninstall also checking the box for uninstall associated preferences.

If the problems still persist then you'll have to wait unless you can assist with modifying your script for debugging.

Chip,

I know you have your other problems at the moment but just a quick suggestion. The charts would be more interesting if you could have each marker being a day instead of a game. It would be interesting to be able to switch between charts by game number and by date they were played...just some thing to think about.

Thanks,

Each marker is timestamped. Hover over the corresponding number on the horizontal time axis to see timestamp.

Is this what you wanted?

Map Rank has been rendered unreliable by recent events meaning that some game logs are missing.

Hopefully should be reinstated properly within a week, sorry for the inconvenience.

Just a thought, if anyone is experiencing problems at the moment, can you also try clearing your cache please?

(Full rescan also or a clean reinstall afterwards to start from a clean slate).

Please let me know if this made any difference, thanks.

Hey Chip

Going back to the earlier problem you were trouble shooting. When I run my own map rank (at least before the new maps screwed things up) It would never quite finish so the columns were never sortable and I never got to a chart. HOWEVER, when I ran map ranks for other players I could sort them (although no charts). I could also run and sort my own if I turned off the rank and points option (although still no chart). I suspect its something caching in my computer but am not certain (and being a non-tech guy I don't always know how to do that either).

Let me know if you need more info here and I'll be back on later tonight.
