You just can't take a "RIGHT" to express yourself and then take it away. Then turn around and say too bad!
FLAME WARS served an outlet to many, who let off steam.
BRING BACK FLAME WARS!

It would seem that the site itself has grown a "thicker skin," and the Flamer Wars forum is now ostracized to the outside of that thick skin, as it very well should be. Those who are unfortunate enough to be inclined to such a negative mentality are the ones who are forced, in this case, to develop some stones, grow up, and act as if they were civilized human beings for a change. Acting as if you were is the first step in the long, hard climb to actually becoming one, so in addition, congratulations are warranted here for a small group of loud individuals who are now embarking on a journey of self-discovery.
You used the word outlet. I accept that, but it was much more than mere "steam;" it was a virulent brand of immature negativity that was harmful to its victims as well as being harmful to its perpetrators, and overall, definitely very harmful to this site.
It was all 100% unnecessary from the beginning, and was also a huge waste of space.
It's my personal hope that the loud minority will soon discover how pleasing it is to exist above the mental platform of the animals. The majority of CC members are already on the human platform, and we are in it not for the sake of fighting, but for the sake of winning. Now that we have definitely won, the minority is welcomed and encouraged to cultivate some civility and mental equilibrium, and then join us -- in that order.
Oh, yes -- your hand is indeed forced.
Now the question becomes: Are you capable of dealing with it in a mature manner?

But why does your cigar smell like poo?

I am proud to be on-board with this decision, as I feel that it is one of the most intelligent decisions that I've ever seen them make. Eventually, you will also develop the maturity required to sincerely applaud this decision, as the majority of us already do, as well as the intelligence necessary to just *** let it go *** -- mark my words.
