Manual Deployment Adjustment

Concise description:
  • Adjust the Manual Deployment setting to make it work better. Right now i think it destroys pretty much any setting and gametype.

Specifics:
  • Have a roof of how many troops that can be deployed on one position. Right now having this much armies to deploy just destroys the game. Begin and you have won, unless you have some serious bad dice. In freestyle it just up to whos faster to attack the other players stack and you win.
  • The limit should be something like maximum 7 on one region, or something like that.

This will improve the following aspects of the site:
  • It will make Manual Deployment accually playable.

Maybe a "type in" yourself cap option? Where "-" or blank is as many as possible and numbers mean how many specifically.

Would it not be best to set a certain percentage of your given troops as a limit that can be placed onto one region, if this was implemented? I don't think it works to just say 'the cap is ten' because there are some maps where you could get five times that many troops in total. Not a great example, but I hope you get my point. :)

Good Idea. As it is it's too much 1st mover advantage.. I probably will not play it again as it is. I won the 1st and only manual I played. I had 1st move.

We already have an Automatic mode (original mode). Do we feel gameplay needs a middle ground" option?

flat, rate, esc no, chain, adj, unlmtd, several types of game play. Nope... CC gameplay has zero middle ground to play on.

No, What I meant was Automatic mode deploys automatically. Manual deploys can put them all in one territ. Do we feel we need to have an option that is basically in-between the two?

Do you have any ideas on what this middle-ground would consist of? For example, would it be that 2 armies are automatically deployed on each territory, and so you have fewer armies to play around with? Or would you put a limit on the number of armies you could put on one particular territory?

I'm pretty sure he's disagreeing with the idea of a middle-ground option between Automatic and Manual. Personally, I still agree with my suggestion before, where you can only deploy a certain percentage of your given troops onto one region. I'd recommend no more than 33.3% can be placed onto one region.

Ridiculous! Some people like it. I come from the camp of "the more options, the better"
If you dont like it dont play it.
Personally, i dont like freestyle, 1v1, or no spoils at all. But I wouldnt dare have the arrogance or audacity to even suggest that those settings be banned just because i dont like them.

I see your point when i comes to freestyle 1v1 games, or small map 8 player games, but have you ever played the board game?

Troups in hand is how it is played. Everybody drops all their armies on 1 tert and leaves the rest of the board with 1s. I find it amazing that people cant adjust their strategy to manual deployment.

Unless the game is 1v1, any group of experienced players can counter the advantage that the person going first has

ive found that even in sequential games whoever goes second has been getting a double turn
not sure if its a bug or suppose to be that way

as an after thought this is the game Game 5654946

Green deployed first, and then red deployed. Once he deployed, the game started, and the system decided that Red got to take the first turn. I don't see how that is a double turn. The order that you deploy in shouldn't affect who goes first in the game, and doesn't give any advantage either way.
