- Minimum: Add a tab to "My Games" page which lists all the games currently underway in any tournaments you are organizing, sorted by tournament. Desired: Have this tab list all tournaments you are organizing or participating in, sorted based on those criteria then by tournament.
Specifics:
- As the number of organized tournaments grows, sorting through the drop down list in the "Game Finder" is becoming way more cumbersome. It would be nice to have an option to more easily manage the tournaments you are organizing and participating in. For the minimum option, any tournaments you receive permissions for will appear as a link in your "Tournaments" tab. Clicking on this link will display all pending, active, or finished games you (or your co-organizer) have started, sorted by those criteria. The desired option would include links for tournaments you are participating in as well (and the two categories would be divided within the tournaments tab). For tournaments you are participating in you can only see pending, active, or finished games you have joined. Likewise, tournaments you are participating in will only appear on your tab when you have actually joined one of the tournament's games, preventing TOs from having to submit a participants list and mods from having to deal with said list when giving privileges. With the completion of the tournament (topic moved into the "Completed" forum), the link is removed from the tab. Additionally, there could be sort functions that allow you to search for games with specific maps or players that would help the TOs of very large tournaments more easily track and update results.
This will improve the following aspects of the site:
- Makes the TO's job much easier by eliminating the "Game Finder" from the tournament management process, simplifying the basic logistics of running a large (or small) tournament.
- Quickly links the players to the tournament topic, especially if no tournament games are ongoing and none remain the "Recently Finished" tab.
- May help members keep track of the tournament load and plan when they should and should not sign up for a new tournament.
