Color code map sections

I think that there should be a color code for different map sections(bonuses)... something like the color code for units(Which I love, btw!!)... except somehow distinguishable. Maybe use the last letters of the alphabet...or something different... just some way of telling without color because I am slightly color blind and I am sure others that play are too...

btw.... sorry if the post looks weird... it is my first forum thread and I am rather confused about all the options...

I agree very much with this. As there are many maps that I cannot play because I know I will get confused with what is what. An option like the color coded armies would be awesome.

I looked through A - C and these maps are troublesome for me:

Battle for Iraq
Battle of Actium 31 B.C.
Cairns Coral Coast (the maize silos and swamps look the same to me)
Charleston, S.C. (east Ashley and N. St. James, and others......i cannot tell the difference)

Whereas, I can usually differentiate the two colors on the map itself. It is difficult to match it to the legend. Usually, I can figure it out when one is a bonus of 2 and the other is 5. I am certainly not asking for the maps to be redone; and if no easy fix is possible that is fine. There are plenty of other maps that I can play. I really like the smaller legend/map with the bonuses. Perhaps with future map designs this could be kept in mind. Though I know that is not always possible.

Guys, whilst I'm not sure that this is the best solution to the problem you're experiencing I agree that it would be helpful for the site to address the problem.

I too am colourblind and find BOB a really helpful tool that helps me address this problem and others with the Conquer Club interface. So what is BOB ?

BOB is a community generated script that adds all kinds of functionality to the Conquer Club interface. Read how to Install BOB! to get started ... Hopefully that will help until the issues can be addressed directly on the site.

We realize that a few maps out there, especially from our early days, are not so colorblind friendly. However, for the last year and half we've been trying to make sure that the maps the leave the Foundry are more colorblind friendly than they were in the past (either by labeling zones and regions on the map or by further distinguishing characters).

So I invite those of you who are colorblind to make your voice heard in the Map Foundry! Go check out the maps that are currently in development, and see if you have any feedback for the Cartographers making them. :)

This thread makes me think of a suggestion for improving Bob.

yeah, I agree... I can usually differentiate between colors on the map, but can't connect them to the legend always.

I will check out BOB probably... although, does is work on macs?

If you use Firefox as your browser and install the Greasemonkey there's no reason why not.
