Hey, its me again!
I think there should be an section in the foundry forums that are specific to artists who are willing to work on maps.
Then, a map maker can go to this forum, and look for people who might be able to draw drafts, as well as final copies.
this would make map making go much smoother and faster. waiting would no longer be needed to find people who are good with graphics, and that have graphic editing software.

It does not fit in to how the process works

Well sailor isn't totally correct. If someone likes your idea and it's posted in Ideas & Suggestions (which it is), then people will volunteer for graphics. You can always ask
via PM as well. So the real answer is that I & S is sort of the place for those who will do graphics but not on their original ideas work, but inquiring to other members doesn't hurt as well

I suggest just making a thread in the drafts forum about your map. Put up a really crappy image to explain what your idea is, and tell people in your thread that you need someone to do graphics. You may be able to pick up someone good, if your idea is interesting enough.

And it always helps to be active in other map topics---if cartographers see that you are taking an active role and commenting on their maps, they may be more willing to help on yours. If you neglect the other maps in the Foundry, yours may just get neglected too. It's all about the community.
