Mogal army amounts as an option for other maps

Make an option to have all the armies x10'd like what City Mogal does but for all maps, I'm sick of losing 5v3 so I mainly stick to the city mogal map now because atleast with 50v30s I win with 20ish armies remaining. or bring back the Idea of no dice and have it so that if your attacking 5v3 you have 2 left, 10v4 you have 6 left etc...

I enjoy playing other maps and being strategic but alot of games are decided purely on dice and not on strategy.

but 50v30 is diff from 5v3
there is a 99.3% chance of winning a 50v30
BUT
only a 64.2% chance of winning a 5v3
that is a MASSIVE difference imo

If you'd like to see a map with similar features, maybe you should visit the Foundry and become active and help get a map started. The Foundry is always looking to create maps people would enjoy, just not enough people visit it and care. ;)

I think it could be fun as an option - would also save having to double the number of maps to introduce it!

I don't really have a problem with it...though you may as well always play no-spoils all the time then, because the City Mogul basically eliminated the point of having spoils used at all.

You are mixing your suggestions here a bit and your searching skills needs improvement.

Well have a look here for an existing thread -> Multiplizer/Normal On Start A Game.

Also an old idea, here -> No dice games.

Dice has always been a integral part of this game though, taking that part out is a big change.

This would absolutely kill noobs who join the games having no idea what the setting mean, in the same vein as them joining difficult maps and freestyle currently.

I think that's what he's looking for.

At some point, the argument that adults can't have nice things because children might destroy/abuse/impale-themselves-upon them begins to wear thin.

And that argument doesn't apply, because it's not a nice thing. You know two player games on City Mogul are trash. If players only want to have the option so that they can farm, then it shouldn't be an option.

I dunno about that. In sequential it seems like it really comes down to who goes first, which would make it like pretty much every single other map on the site. In freestyle, well, freestyle is what it is, and as far as I'm concerned, unskilled players join freestyle 1v1s, especially on a specialist map like Mogul, at their own risk.

I just don't think that "such and such could be abused by farmers" is a legitimate reason to dismiss an idea out of hand. It's become one of CC's reflexive (and negative) responses to new ideas, along with "such and such could be abused by multis" or "where's lack going to find the time to code it?".

Personally I think the concept of a force multiplier (so long as said was applied to the drop) is interesting enough that I'd certainly play a few games for giggles. Of course, it's moot, since where's lack going to find the time to code it?

I agree with alot of what incandezza has to say. If everyone starts on a even playing field, I dont see the problem. Start us with 3 armies, 30 armies, 1000 armies, as long as everyone gets the same amount, I am cool with it.

But then again, I can never have too many options, so yeah, I like the idea

Don't you like chance? If I knew the result of every roll before I rolled I wouldn't bother rolling. Thats the fun of risk!

Rocket.
