Escalating: Increase rate of escalation after so many cashes

Right now, in an escalating game it increases (escalates) from +2 / cash to +5 / cash. It continues then to escalate at a flat rate of +5 / cash. Occassionally, you run into a game where a stagnant board is set up, such that it is not possible to sensibly eliminate someone for their cards because the cards are not trading in high enough. I propose that the pattern of escalation continues...i.e. +2 / cash -> +5 / cash -> +10 / cash -> +15 / cash (meaning after each cash the next cash gets 15 more).

Specifics:
  • At 15 it starts climbing by 5. I say that at 30 or 35, the cashes climb by 10. Then after every 3rd cash the cashes climb by another 5 or 10. (This is my rough idea, but it can be changed, the point is to make it climb by more than +5)

This will improve the following aspects of the site:
  • Decrease stalemated escalating games.

That's way too fast for the escalation to escalate.

It is just a rough estimate, subject to change. The point is to eliminate those stagnant escalating games.

The trick is to attack at some point before it happens. That, and don't play certain maps with certain settings.

Sometimes it is just not feasible to do that in a 6-8 man escalating game, especially on classic map.

if your in an 8-man esc game on classic and your hitting a stalemate, then your doing it wrong. unless your playing some real pros its gonna end way before round 20

It's very rare. I have played a lot of large esc games, and the only games I've had go stale were on Pearl Harbour, and WWII Aussie.

I agree but I think the increase should be at a slower rate to avoid the first person getting a major advantage...

thats the whole point of escalating and of taking someone out for their cards

The individual who has made this suggestion should also have suggested to remove flat rate games.... They lead stalemates very more often than escalating games. Escalating games have it ways to solve the stalemates most of times. And with all those the tradeoffs to be made if cards wud worth or not current escalating is what i find to be lovely. Personally i reject this idea, and must state that i m fully happy with the current one.
