Pause option

Postby sailorseal on Mon Jan 19, 2009 3:32 pm

Have you ever been playing a speed game and realize it's 1 AM? Have you ever just wished you could put the game on pause? If both players agree to pause the game then the next day when they are both on the game is restarted. It would have to be a mutual agreement.
This will improve the following aspects of the site:
  • easier speed games
  • people get more sleep

"Pause" wouldn't work to well, of itself. Would the players both need to agree to resume? If they did, one could just refuse to resume the game and then they would have the game in pause indefinitely. If only one has to press the resume button, one could wait until the other goes to sleep and then resume and make them db.

A better solution (and one that has already been approved, and is currently *to-do*) can be found here: viewtopic.php?t=28750

i agree with n00blet, the pause game button could be pressed, and if you have quite alot of games like ido, it would be easy to just forget to unpause it, leaving it there for ages, which could disatisfy the other player, specialy if he is non prem.....

I agree with the two previous posts. I'm fairly sure this won't happen (due to predicted abuse), the idea nooblet suggests is much better.

(and boss, if the member isn't premium, then how can they play speed games??)

No, lack gave them two speed games after the laggage, and they got speed games on Halloween (on the Halloween map)
