Annual Scoring

I would like to make the suggestion that two scores are kept. A running all time score, and a 2009 only score. The 2009 only score would start at 2000 for all members. The 2009 score would be the one that determines how many points are won or lost each game. There should be two scoreboards, all time and annual. This would level the playing field on a recurring basis, and also not punish people at the top of the leaderboard currently.

So Santa brings Major badges to everyone for 2009?
I don't know, I guess having sub scoreboards for each year could work, maybe even have a best of the month and best of the week boards. I don't think it would be too hard to make, and it would give people short term goals too.

Actually, it would increase the disparity, as the better players would be accruing more points than currently, thereby widening the gap :-k

It would widen the overall gap, I know. But players would be more willing to play all ranks thereby increasing fun. alltime scores SHOULD reward long time players. But then players would have to prove themselves annually or biannually. Score resets would be a positive thing.

LMAO!!!

I must say I agree with you, but that statement is just asking for trouble...

In the long run, the people that are worried about their points, while they may not be the majority of players, are definitely the most active, and they won't be happy to see their precious points disappear.

No only the annual score would ever be reset....think of it like an odometer in the car, you can keep hitting the button to reset the trip odometer back to zero, but th emileage still accumalates in total on teh regular odometer.
