Player Colors in "Leave Rating"

Postby Jumentum on Sat Dec 20, 2008 9:31 am

A player's color should be included in the "Leave Rating" area. This would make it easier to rate people in big multiplayer games, especially if you open many ratings tabs in firefox like i do.

...just remember the name of the person you're rating.

If you open them in multiple tabs, which I also do, and are in doubt of who you're rating, just check the name, go back to the tab with the map, check the color and done. That's what I do. But it's true, 90% of the time I remember a player's game more from the color than from the name...

In my opinion, if you can't remember who it is, you obviously don't have a very well founded opinion of the person and should not be rating them. It is like me saying "I like that guy with all the 'yes we can signs,' so they should put that in the ballot because I could not figure out which one he was"

I agree Neon Peon, but I, like most people, rate according to the person's politeness in the chat and also their gameplay. It is also sometimes difficult to remember who missed a few turns, etc.

Truth be told, a game of Risk is not enough time to formulate a good opinion of anyone, so ratings are pretty much useless the person is a real asshole.

It's a decent idea. I'm not a coder but it sounds like it might be simple to implement. It might help some and I see no way it could harm anyone. So my logic in a case like that is "Why not do it?"

None of my business but I can't help but wonder... Since you never rate anyone at all ever, why would you care one way or the other about this idea? There seems to be no valid reason for you to be shooting it down, as it would have no effect on you at all. I haven't really thought much about it, but it seems a simple enough idea that couldn't hurt anything, whether it helped anyone or not.

The players name in the rating, would need to be associated with the game, the only problem is if you've played a player in more than one game, which color is used? (I realize that a logical answer is the most recent game)
