Get higher New Recruit rate

To get more new recruits to stay, we should have it such that there are volunteers (i.e. those farmers) who take them on in the CLASSIC map, since that is why they joined to play risk...rather than having so they must wander themselves. When I joined I got completely confused and left for a long time for several months, then got an urge to play risk again and came back...

I would say to start off on any simple map other than classic. why would someone stay to play on boxes?

Yeah, Classic isn't really classic anymore, maybe play Iberia, France, or other similar simple maps. And I would discourage farmers to be the ones to play them since they won't do anything to help them, being they're only interested about their points.

Maybe they could play a game or two against an easy AI, just to get their confidence up.

EDIT: Just realized how shitty this idea is. Please disregard.

How about making special games for people with 1000 and less points. Something that if you go to "Join A Game" the first 4 games are all standard sequential games, for 3, 4, 5 and 6 players, and only people with less than 1000 points can join? New Recruits wouldn't be forced to join just them, but it may help set up an environment of learning and practice among people with that rank.
There would always be those 4 games open, and if one is filled then another one is created with the same settings...
The only downside I can see to this is there could be a lot of deadbeating there, so maybe reduce it to two 3 player games and two 4 player games?

again, people with low points would target those games to bring up their rank.

So? as soon as they hit 1000 they can't go in them anymore. And them targeting those games doesn't mean they'll win them, after all, their score is around the same thus their skills are probably around the same too. And if they're more skilled, they'll go up in rank, isn't that what rank is for anyway?

Someone who has more than 1000, but not too much, can deliberately sink below 1000 and then open/join 50 of those games...

Which, again, he´ll win until he gets back to 1000, when he´ll have to move on to other games. And he won´t be able to join 50 of those games, since there would only be 4 open at a given time, and even if he does join 50 games (for which he´d have to stall one game while more games open so he can join all 50 of them), and he´s so good that he wins them all, that´s not gonna take him higher than 2000 points (actually real numbers would be more around the 1500s if he´s lucky), so exploiting this to get a good position in the scoreboard is impossible, and it would be VERY stupid to lose points on purpose just in order to be able to rejoin the -1000 games. Anyway, I´m sure there could be a way to limit access to this games so each player can only join up to 4 of them at the same time.
And if someone ends up returning to them constantly, I don´t see what the problem is, I mean that´s what they would be made for, for people below 1000 to be able to play with other people with the same skills as them until they get more experience and get confident enough to play some higher ranks and ascend in rank themselves. If created, this kind of games could not be used to get points continuously, and it would provide a nice environment where low ranked people can polish their skills without being targeted and butchered by point hunters.
