What about games where you could team up half way through? or leave someones team?

Here you delete the "xxxxxxx (you can obviously delete this for bug reports)" and the "xxxxxxx" and replace them correspondingly with the first improvement this will make to the site, and the second improvement the suggestion will make to the site. It will look like this in your post:

This will improve the following aspects of the site:
  • One thing that will be improved on the site.
  • Another thing that will be improved on the site.

Hope this helped you out. Mods do not look at suggestions (usually) if you do not fill out the form. Makes things so much simpler for the readers.

Malleable teams:

What about games where you could team up half way through? or leave someones team? sort of like world war 2, only without the stalemate at the end where noone does anything till one of the players croaks.

Concise description:
  • Team swaps allowed in game, this means that players would be allowed to officially make teams and end in a team loss/victory

Specifics:
  • Team win/loss splits points as normal
  • This game type is optional from the start/join game menus

This will improve the following aspects of the site:
  • By making games more interesting with a new variation of diplomacy

Who would allow/disallow a player joining/leaving a team? A team vote or just the players own choice? Also should 6 v 2 teams be allowed?
I could see loads of abuse issues with the first option (friends treating this style as regular team games against opponents that don't) and loads of "no win" games with the other option (due to all players about to loose a game joining up the winning team).



How/when would such a team join/switch event take place? At the start of a game round? At the start of the joining players next round? Instantly when chosen?

I can't see this happening to be honest, what with all the abuse potential. It would be impractical for all of the mods to check every single game for abuse etc.

This would be fun in the real life...erm...variant, though :)
