Give "Active rank" -- a range in profile

Postby PLAYER57832 on Sat Nov 08, 2008 1:22 pm

Concise description:
Give the range of ranks a person has had for the past three months in their profile.

Specifics:
Give the range of ranks a person has had for the past three months in their profile.
If someone has not been active, it would list the last 3 active months' ranks.

Example: Player X has been cook to a Brigadier

Player Y has been private -mater Sergeant

Player Z was Major

This will improve the following aspects of the site:
Just nice to know

Map rank gives a graph for people to look at of their entire points based on time. I wish they would add these scripts into the site. Half of the suggestions here are ones that are already scripts. It would take very little time to implement them into the site since the coding is all there.

But when I asked lack, he said "eventually, and other items are higher up on the *to do* list." Since that list has not changed during the entire time I have been on cc... I have little hope that even if it get put as a *to do* that it will happen in our lifetimes.

Back on topic: the newest version of map rank gives a chart of your score through your time at cc. So, you can look at just the last 3 months of the person's graph.

I've said it before, but Map rank & other plug ins are nice for those who have the computer capacity, ability to use them, but a lot of us have neither. But I, too, have seem little progress on Lack's "to-do" list. (I won't say "no" progress, but little -- "yes")

The problem with suggestions where there is a plug in already (I can't use any myself either) is this:

It is available to a wide range of people already, while the other suggestions are available to none. So when lack decides to make some actual progress, other things which take a long time in themselves to program will be put first.

And from what I have seen so far, those things either take a really long while, or lack is not working a lot. So either way, these suggestions will be only made in a very long time.

To a point, yes.

However, where there already is a plug-in, a lot of the work has already been completed, so that weighs into the "cost/benefit" analysis as well.

Anyway, it is a suggestion.
