New Game Option-Random Initial Deployment

I think this could be a good variation for people who want to play. Basically after the drop has been executed, instead of all territories starting with 3's, perhaps the armies should be randomly placed. I would suggest a version that starts with 2's before the random stage kicks in and also one that leaves 1's on the board.
I think this would be a fun option, to see you are starting with a 7 or so somewhere, and hoping it borders an enemy!

Well, considering that most people on this site at least somewhat care about their scores, this probably won't pass. Though I do like the idea.

true, I just think for 1 v1's it might be more fun than having all 3's and neutral 3's everywhere. Makes the game a little different each time, and the better players could hone a new strategy.

maybe, make an option to do Non-Random Initial Deployment, where you can choose where to set armies, maybe hide opponents distribution but reveal where neutrals are. I say hide enemies deployment because it would turn into a CM Freestyle nightmare, waiting last second to deploy armies on territories to create an adv... not sure how this would be implemented or if its even feasible...

I think there are several threads that already are talking about placing armies. THis one is a different option of having them randomly scattered across your assigned territories.

Let's stay on topic re
this specific suggestion. Threads on other variants are out there if you care to find them.
Initial Troop Deployment *Pending* for example is close to what trapyoung is counter suggesting.
Re this suggestion: Even more randomness at the start means even more likelihood that a game will be decided by luck. Personally not a prospect I'd enjoy - for me there's already more than enough luck with the drop in its current from and the dice.
