Give forum banned members the ability to add players to thei

Concise description:
  • Give forum banned members the ability to add players to their foe list.

This will improve the following aspects of the site:
  • Forum banned members who pay should not lose their right to not play risk with players just because they lost their right to post in the forum.

Shouldn't be too hard

Aren't you allowed to play, even if you are forum banned?

If I remember correctly, that was going to require a major CC overhall and the word was that could not happen for a while? But it will be nice when it does!

all that would need to happen, is to issue posting bans instead of a forum "lockout" ban,
the only difference would be that the banned person would be able to view the forum (but not post)

I only have experience with invision forums, not with php, but I assume that they're similar. In invision, you can ban a player from specific parts of the forum, without banning them from the entire forum. Couldn't you ban someone from viewing any parts of the board, without taking away their access to their profile?

All you would need to do is create a new usergroup "banned", that does not have access to any parts of the posting area. That way, they would still be acknowledged by php (and the "control panel"), but they wouldn't be able to post or read posts.

It would also give them access to their inbox.

Meh - I couldn't care less about Forum banned members getting anything back...

However the worst bit - is that normal members cannot add banned members to their ignore lists.

That's bollocks. We pay to play risk, the forum is an extra. We do not pay for the forum. You do not need premium for the forum. Just because you are banned from the forum doesn't mean your rights as a premium member should be discounted.

I'm not staff!?! -> I'm just a member here.

And people are partly not renewing - because of the large amounts of twats running around the forum?!

Please do not refer to the moderators/admin as twats please.

And yeah, stop pretending.

I'm not <- look - do I have a fancy coloured name? No? My name is the same colour as yours...

Just because I attempt to help the site doesn't mean I am part of the site.

Yeah, sorry. I thought you had some sort of power in running the site. Turns out you are just like me. No access to mod forums or anything.

And who are said "twats"?

So you're saying that multis detract more from the forums than the game itself?

No -

a) we are discussing the forums not the game.
b) You can multi the forum as well as the game.

I also believe that forum banned users cannot use PMs either
