Message all for tournament organizers

Postby RedRover23B on Sat May 31, 2008 12:23 pm

Concise description: Message all for tournament organizers

Specifics:
  • A feature for tournament organizers to be able to message all players who have responded to the thread.

This will improve the following aspects of the site:
  • Easier for tournament organizers to post updates and inform all who need to know.

Abuse, as in spamming, should be low considering that this privilege is only granted to tournament organizers.

Maybe, but I don't send every game to every player.

There's already some tournament improvements in the works that should provide for this.

Some do - but you could still use it to send updates.

Nope. (Because I don't even know for sure what it'll look like.)

It's called Mass PMs. It isn't that hard to write down the names of the players in your thread, save it in a PM draft and copy/paste it over to a new PM.

And enter them into the "To" individually? That is very time consuming especially for larger tournaments. I only suggested this to make it easier for tournament organizers to run their tournaments better, resulting in less dropped tournaments maybe they can do something (which is very time consuming) easier and faster.

A feature as I suggested would be very helpful.

If you type up a list, copy and paste the entirety of the list. For now, until improvements, that'll have to do.

i have a suggestion for tournies:

there should be a prize for the winner - a prize of points - like 200 points or something.
everyone has to pay a certain amount of points for entering...

Yeah, I am suggesting that improvement. Copy and paste takes a lot of time.

Been suggested many times and rejected (I believe). At least in the current system you can win points without winning the tournament. Some people (like myself) have never won a tournament but can at least do respectable in the tournaments to gain points.

Yeah, I am suggesting that improvement. Copy and paste takes a lot of time.

To be honest, it could be more time consuming to make a hack that allows all people who posted in the thread to be sent a PM. And even then, not all the players who post in a thread are actually participating (like TD's).

Accually, it doesnt.

You just take your signup list and copy paste the whole line with how many people as possible and just add them all in one single mail. Takes like 10 seconds.
