Selectable Deadbeat Threshold

Concise description:
  • You will have the option to set the Deadbeat Threshold in newly created games.

Specifics:
  • The Deadbeat Threshold setting is the number of consecutive turns any given player may miss before being automatically kicked from the game for missing too many turns.
  • This number may be anywhere from 0 to 15.
  • Setting Deadbeat Threshold to "0" allows any given player to miss any number of consecutive turns without getting kicked.
  • Deadbeat Threshold default setting is "3".

This will improve the following aspects of the site:
  • Allowing an adjustable Deadbeat Threshold allows new game creators to set the tone of their game regarding missed turns.
  • Very casual, friendly, longer games may have a higher Deadbeat Threshold than normal, allowing players to go on vacation for weeks and come back (assuming they survive). :D
  • Less forgiving, more hardcore games may have a lower Deadbeat Threshold than normal, punishing players who miss only two consecutive turns by kicking them from the game. [-X
  • The most demanding, unforgiving games may have a Deadbeat Threshold set to "1", automatically kicking any players who miss a single turn from the game.

Enabling this option opens the following cans of worms:
  • The potential for abusing Deferred Army Deployments from missed turns could become huge in games with Deadbeat Threshold set too high (or to "0"); however, this may add a fun aspect to those games as players sweat it out gambling on taking a turn or not.
  • Potential flame war may ensue....NOW.
