Suggestion: More Chat Mods Needed

Concise description:More Chat Mods Are Needed
Specifics:Chat mods can't be expected to be online 24/7 and spend their entire time in Live Chat looking after children. Currently, the moderating team are dealing with extremely trivial things such as sending warnings for flaming out of flame wars, when someone posted that how to divide one number by another was a stupid question to ask in question and answers because you learn that at age 8. Meanwhile, in live chat at the same time there is extreme abuse of the site going on with users such as ryan 32 and using extremely deflammatory and racist language against other people with no-one being able to deal with the situation because of a lack of chat mods avaliable.
This will improve the following aspects of the site:One won't go into live chat, expected to receive a torrent abuse just for trying to ask a fellow CCer to stop spamming. Being a chat mod is an easy job, although I understand the moderator squad have to find members of the website who wouldn't potentially abuse the role, I'm sure that any abuse done by a person given the role could be dealt with swiftly and easily and there is enough trustworthy characters on the website. With more chat mods, there will be less of this foul and racist language being used in live chat and hence the website will be a more welcoming and nice place!

i think this tread was caused since there is always a mod in chat but normally not really there, atleast in this case where atleast 2 people should have been kicked almost instantly, but their flame war full of derogitory terms kept on going for a long time since there was no mod to take care of it. I back this idea.

We are always looking at ways to improve the running of the website, so we'll surely look into it. If a moderator in chat doesn't seem to be around, you can always feel free to PM a forum moderator that is on, and they will do their best to take care of the situation.

May I also suggest that clan moderators get chat moderating power untilk they abuse the power? (I'm NOT a clan mod, so I'm NOT just looking to get myself power.)

problem is that some people would make a clan just to get the powers.

We're always on the lookout for new chat mods to add to the team. There was a small window of time today where chat was left unmoderated. That does NOT mean that the offenders were not dealt with accordingly. Ryan32 is a on temp ban from chat, and others involved will be getting PM warnings. Even if we had ten more chat mods, it still wouldn't guarantee 24/7 coverage, so there will be periods of time when no moderators are present, just like there are times when someone is trolling the forums and no forum mods are available. Also remember, there is the ignore function in chat if you don't want to read what someone else is posting. Just type /ignore username, and if the username has spaces, make sure to put quotes around it, e.g. /ignore "James Vazquez"
When you see someone disrupting chat and no chat mods are on, check the forum to see if any admins are on and PM them if they are. Chat mods and Admins are the only ones with chat moderation capabilities.
Nag, Live Chat is separate from the forums, so whatever forum mods occupy themselves with doesn't affect chat mods, and vice versa.

That's good but I understand 24/7 coverage is an impossibility but I rarely go live chat now but when I do only in the evenings there seem to be active moderator coverage, whilst during the day, whilst it's quite dead there is no moderators around like now and this could easily result in more abuse. Also, in regards to your ignore list point, thats all very well to use but I'm thinking about the website image in general, all the core regular users can use that feature but it's the new members that you want to keep and attract to the website, and if live-chat promotes the wrong image, they won't understand how to ignore people and could potentially be put off from the website. It just seems sensible to have a few extra people with chat mod priviliges.

I was being harrased first and im the only one tem banned? I go into callouts and thats it i type "rts?". And then i get little bitchy players insulting me because I "was mean" to them in the games we played. I tell them to leave me alone so they go and convince people not to play me. When i try to talk to them i had 2 responses. 1 guy trying to impersonate a mod saying crazy things. 2. People swearing at me.

turn the other cheek? no worries its only a temp ban from chat
as for them convinceing others not to play you, if the players are going to belive someone as whiny as the person your talking about, its probably in your best intrest not to play someone so easilly swayed, its a big site and plenty of players to play with, so no worries friend
