Language Moderation

Specifics:
  • in feedback postings
  • general game chat
Believe it or not, foul language still offends some people! I'm sure I'm not the only one who would appreciate some kind of control on words which can be used in chat/feedback/any posts.

Thanks! :D

It took a lot of self control to reply to this civilly, but here I am.

I'm under the impression that the mods try to interfere with the feedback as little as possible. I wonder if there is some sort of program you could use to edit out offensive words that will operate through firefox or something. That might help you out.

We have a few tools in place that you can use. If you add a person to your Foe list, you will no longer read their game chat.

In regards to feedback, our rules state:
From Instructions -- Feedback wrote:Feedback Guidelines

Leave only fair and factual comments that relate to a specific game.
Do not leave feedback for trivial things like missing an occasional turn.
Do not use foul language.
Do not fish for feedback (i.e. leave positive feedback to get positive feedback in return).
Do not leave retaliatory feedback (i.e. leave negative feedback in revenge of negative feedback).

You can always report any improper feedback by sending an e-ticket (via the HELP tab) to the Feedback Dept.

There are millions of feedbacks in the CC site and so it would be impossible for the mods to read them all. The best way, like Andy has said is just to fill an eticket, and a member of the mod team should respond to you within a reasonable amount of time.

OP, there is a GreaseMonkey script that removes any words that you deem offensive wherever they appear on ConquerClub ...

I have the script installed and it shows up on the list of scripts as "Conquer Club - Filter" ... However I can't for the life of me find where the link to it is. Hopefully some other kind soul will help out ...
