Reward players who have a lower average time between turns.

Concise description:
Some games move right along because the players are attentive to their matches. Others drag to a craw with players taking the full 24 hours to play. Of course people are busy. Sometimes they have no choice but to miss a round. Life happens.

But can't the system keep track of how long goes by on average whenever it is a player's turn. Maybe show this average on the players profile page along with comments from others. If I see a person who averages a more than 20 hours a turn, I might avoid them to play with a player that averages 5 hours a turn.

Maybe reward players who have a quicker or lower average turn time. If your average turn time is between 0 and 5 hours long, you get 20 more extra score points after each game. If your average turn time is between 6 and 10, you get 10 more extra score points after each game. I am making these numbers up as I type, but you get the idea. I am trying to come up with some way to reward players who keep the games moving along. I don't want to punish the slow players. And again, this is based on averages over multiple of matches and turns. Not a single missed turn or two. Life happens, people get busy, people travel.

Just an idea. I am new and I hope I filled out this "suggestion" properly.

(so much for concise)

the points inflation lot are currently hunting you down... they will not like

and the average turn time suggestion has been put up and then left to die before

I don't see this ever happening. People are allowed 24 hours per turn and aren't going to be penalized when they're playing within the parameters set.

Forget the points element for the reasons already stated and more ... (someone PM DiM over here to elaborate on the opportunies for abuse ...)

But if it were easy to code and insignificant in terms of server load ... yes please. It'd be an interesting stat to have. I would choose to play people with averages less than 12 hours since that is (probably) mine as I typcially check in twice a day.

Equally people who like to play as infrequently as possibly could see which players shared their preference and make informed choices.

Mind you, I guess Priority will be "low to never" :)

This make a lot of sense.
It doesnt necessarily(sp?) imply penalisation of slower players but would improve MY and many other overall gameplay and satisfaction of this site.
im pretty much on a 12 hour schedule too.

If you want a speed game, play a speed game. Casual games leave you 24 hours to play. I LIKE that.

There have been suggestions to have alternate times, but remember folks from different time zones play, too.

Player, you forget those games that get exciting to play in, where the rounds go fast and then one punk takes his entire time to move, and you're dying wanting to take yours again. And also the fact that speed games do not allow you to leave your computer, more or less. A faster casual game does let you do that.

Me personally, I think I'd have one of the lowest average turn times on CC. With exception for the time I'm sleeping, if it's ready to go, I'm playing it. I would like knowing without mining feedback if a person is slow on the turns, or quick on them, because I prefer a faster-moving game.

just join more games, then you will always have a turn not far away.

I keep my game list between 40 and 50 at all times, and you'd be amazed how slow a list like that can go sometimes.

Then keep it just statistical. No penalty, no reward.

When looking for games in game finder, when the list shows up, on the right hand it currently shows a person positive and negatives comments tallies, add a third number that shows their average length of time before they start their turn after the previous player finishes. Round this number to the closes hour. So it would look like: SYMBOL screenname ( 34-0 : 17 hrs)

Nothing positive, nothing negative, just pure statistics.

I would tend to gravitate to games with players that play quicker rounds.

Ignore the number if you want, but if you find the added information helpful, it is there for you to review.

i joined that many games yesterday, 15 each of the 3 new maps and then some random ones to mix it up a bit. normally though i sit around 100, i have a lot of 8 player games where i take a turn about once a week so the load is not as big as you might think.
