Concise description:

• Create prompt to leave feedback for other in ended games

Specifics:

• It would be nice if there was some type of prompt somewhere that reminded players to leave feedback after games ended.
• Alternatively, players could be notified when others have left feedback for them.

This will improve the following aspects of the site:

• Increasing the frequency with which individuals leave (and thereby receive) feedback.
• Making us one big happy family
• Allowing the total feedback to be a descriptor--in addition to the rank--of experience.

If they didn't leave enough of an impression on you that you can remember to leave feedback, why would you leave one? With all the problems some people have with the feedback system already (or even, regardless of some people's problems), I can't see the potential "flooding" of it to be a good thing.

everyday we are provided with a list of games with which to review and leave feedback on. those lists are called recently finished and eliminated.

we do get notification of someone leaving feedback for us, those feedback numbers beside our names go up.

I recognize that some people have problems with the feedback system. I agree that many people are forgettable, and I by no means leave feedback for every opponent. However, I feel that a simple pop-up or bolded link or other notification would be beneficial.

I am aware of these features, and of how to use them. Further, I disagree with the last comment. There is not a notification. In fact, a notification is what I'm suggesting. The current system allows access to these features if we choose to seek it. It is very easy to overlook a feedback number that increased from 13 to 14. The use of these features may depend on whether the person has a dozen games on their recently finished list or only a couple.

It would just be nice if "New!" popped up beside My Feedback in the Interaction Menu in a manner similar to the PM notifier. I don't claim a high level of technical know-how, so I'm interested in opinions on the difficulty and involvement of establishing this feature.

Forgive me if I sound a little jaded, but it sounds to me like you're looking for an easier way to "fish" for feedback, and I don't see any reason why that should be encouraged.

I have a clear logical understanding of how the ranking, feedback, (you name it) system works. However, I illogically attach too much value to others' feedback ratings when I'm scoping them out as opponents or teammates. It's a pain to click on each profile, and I often gauge the feedback ratings as scaled down numbers of how many games have been played. This is a summation of the issues that caused me to pose this topic for discussion.

I don't understand why feedback numbers are so much easier to access than overall record (I know this issue has been discussed at length elsewhere) when such a small fraction of games result in feedback. As we all know, most users will only post feedback if they have had an extreme (good or bad) experience. This is insufficient because most are not motivated to use it. Yet, feedback is one of two characteristics you can determine by looking at the list of players in a game. Given the importance the site creators put on the feedback rankings, it seems that its use should be emphasized.

Please notice, the title of the thread is ideas to increase feedback. I only posed the notification idea as an option.

I usually only post feedback if I've had a tough battle or conversation with other players. I also post negatives if they deadbeat. The feedback that I leave is often, but not always, reciprocated. Beyond this, I'm definitely not fishing for feedback. I just thought it useful to point out that we have a limited amount of information available at first glance, and I'm slightly annoyed that half of this information is overlooked, under-utilized, and, for the most part, meaningless.
