Color/Style Consultant Needed

Concise description:- CC needs a color/style consultant! Just look at the new forum colors and the overall coloring of the website... it looks like a bachelor pad. There's a LOT of room for improvement. The new forum colors run together, making it impossible to read. Just a few simple changes would solve that problem. Ideally, this consultant would be in on anything style-related, and maybe he/she can come up with better game colors too!
Specifics:- Someone with a GOOD eye for color schemes and style. They could submit samples of how they'd fix up CC's look.
This will improve the following aspects of the site:- Make the entire site easier on the eyes.
- This person can look at the proposed changes beforehand and come up with an appropriate color scheme that'll work and go over well.

Id throw my hat in the ring suggesting this colour/color scheme
http://www.stsoftware.biz/phpbb3/index.php?style=serenity_darkblueas found on the php site.
I feel it will make the forum easier on the eye and make it easier to establish between posts because as seen in the next link there is a bluey bar between posts.

Nah, don't think we need an entire committee. Things take too long to get done by committee, and not everyone agrees. Just one person with an eye for color/style would suffice.

Whatever it is, just make sure it keeps in with a warfare-related theme. I think this color is supposed to be vaguely reminiscent of camo, and I think it fits. A white, trendy wikipedia-ish skin would be completely out of place here.

One suggestion .. run it by the Masses BEFORE implementing big changes. I realize the committees are an attempt at this, but there is a big difference between what a few folks who happen to have the interest and TIME to join a committee might think and what will work for the rest of us, who use the site, think..... especially some of us who may no longer have the best of eyesight.
I had trouble with the orange put in with the move to 8 player teams, but the change actually made things much worse. A lot of other folks feel the same, but the decision was already made. We use the color codes, but it is not as nice as just plain colors.
Also, seeing the colors on a "color wheel" and seeing them in practice are not the same thing.

have you considered allowing each person to modify their view with schemes?

I've yet to meet a coding geek who could decorate.

It's obvious looking at the most recent color layout, the previous color layout and the whole game color thing that someone with an "eye" for color/decorating is needed. No offense to anyone involved with any of that, but the end products have been seriously lacking in aesthetic appeal. The initial reaction of the community shoud never be... "AAAK MY EYES MY EYES!!"
I'm not sure what Janiv's job exactly is, or that of the previously mentioned "design team", but it's obvious they and/or he needs a color design consultant in their ranks, as I think his/their job falls more to the layout and coding of such, not the aesthetics, i.e. color schemes.

i personally dont mind the colors, im not fond of them but i can live with it. what i want is practicality. its much harder to read the forums in this scheme than the older one

I remember in the old setup, in the user control panel there was a drop down menu that was for different layouts, sorry I don't remember exactly what it was called.
The drop down menu only had one layout on it, but if something like that was implemented with different options it would be versatile and everybody could choose the option they prefer.
This would eliminate the whining, and you wouldn't necessarily have to find one cookie-cutter mold to fit everybody into.
If you even came up with 3 or 4 different options, I think it would solve a lot of the potential problems.
I'm sure I'd love to look at different color options, but I am almost completely useless at most programs that would come up with such designs, including photoshop and all sorts of fancy graphics programs.
I'd love to lend an eye though, if it was in a way that I didn't have to do a lot of computer work.

I completely agree. I have a problem with getting migraines and with these new forum colors, it is really bothering my eyes. I have been taking more pills lately just so I can read the forums.

You know its bad when I bring a water and a bottle of pills with me to the computer now!

Also, the colors in the PM's!!
Please get a chick or metro sexual guy in here to change the colors to a more appealing color.
