Clickable Feedback

Hey folks,

Not to detract from the current feedback system, but I think a nice, easier, way of doing feedback, would be to have a few preselected options. Maybe to rate a player from 1-10 even at the end of a game, based on that game. You will be able to rate a player once for every game you play with them (rather than once only for feedback)

This should be independent and intertwined with the current feedback system, and perhaps even more required. When you finish a game, you get to do a dropdown 1-10 for each player (required to get your points perhaps? And also for games finished, but awaiting feedback, perhaps an "awaiting feedback" section, circa E-bay...

I'd love to leave more feedback, but sometimes I'm struggling just to play my games, and with everything else I try to do, a quick, easy system like this would make it easier for me to leave feedback, and also help develop a better, long term profile of how a player is. Perhaps this could also become something people strive for... Highest feedback ranking, or whatever...

It's not apt for too much abuse, since in order to leave a bad feedback for someone you have to play a whole game with them first, it's not just a rate anyone system, and as such I think it could be quite valuable for developing a good idea of how "good" a player is, not ability wise, but gamesmanship wise.

Do you not think people will abuse it?

The pre-requisite for being able to clickable/rate someone is to have finished a game with them, and you only get one click/vote per game... Easy way to avoid someone abusing you with it is to put them on your ignore list, so they can't play games with you, and thus can't rate you.

Interesting idea. I don't like the idea of being able to leave more than one per person and it being required though. So what does it add then? Not much IMO. You already have a "number" and a separate system just to give you another number for the same thing seems redundant.

If the person derserves feedback, then you'll take the minute to write a sentence. If it's not worth a minute of your time, than they didn't really earn it then, did they?

With the system now, you have to give a valid reason to give someone a negative feedback. With your proposed system, you wouldn't have to leave a reason, so IMO that opens it up to a much higher likelihood of abuse. At least now, you have to justify yourself. No justification = Abuse.

I see a few problems with this. First of all what would happen to all of the feedback already on people's accounts? Would poitives be worth 10, negatives worth one, or would it all be deleted?

Also different people might measure feedback differently. I consider average to be a 7 as it is 70% and is similar academicaly to a C. Some people consider average to be a 5 so there may be some inconsistency in how one user rates players as opposed to another.

I think the system we have now is superior to a 1 through 10 system for the above reasons. Now players can state whether they liked playing with another player, whether didn't like playing with them, or whether they didn't care. It's pretty much perfect as is.
