chat room for games awaiting players

I think it would be cool if in games awaiting players you could chat with everyone in the game so far. I don't know if its practical but I would like it. For instance when I am waiting for a doodle assassin speed game I am not gonna leave my computer so it would be fun to talk to the other players who are also waiting.

Cos then only 1 person can see it - I like the idea...

A bit of pre game banter wouldn't go amiss...

It's a bit like when you play for real - you ready your armies and discuss the game ahead...

This idea was tossed around before...I think it was called 'Lobby'. Instead of having the main link be "Drop Game," it would say "Lobby" or something similar. Then you could go in an enter, and view a blank board and chat, etc. But I don't think much discussion came of it.

If you added that, it would only make sense to add the ability for players to place armies. Maybe have the option of "Lobby/Place Armies" v. "Quick Drop" in Game Options

I don't think that would work - cos then the territories would be allocated up front - you could enter a game - see your drop - and bail if you don't like it...

Unless - once you enter the game - then your tied in...

i think it should be completely blank until the final player has joined, and the game is then locked in to those players like it is currently.

i like the idea, and would use it a lot... especially for team games awaiting another team, our team could get some strategey together.

I initially thought this would be a wonderful addition, but after a bit of thought how useful would it really be? The only new development out of this would be some friendly pre-game shat/trash talk, but that doesn't add a whole lot to the game.

I mean, I'd support the option to go live, but this really doesn't add much so it should be pretty low priority IMO. Anything important can be said via the chat, the forums, or through PMs.

My whole idea was based on friendly pre-game chat. There isn't anything else it can add. But since people are gonna all be waiting for the same game to start, then why not be able to chat with fellow players.

Also at least for doodle assassin it might speed up the first round a bit, since invariably someone takes a long time or misses a turn because they left to do something else and the game started. Now when people join a speed game they can stay right there if they want without being bored out of their mind.

No its not crucial or high priority but it would be nice.
