Archive rank for completed games

Postby lancehoch on Sat Jan 12, 2008 11:19 am

Suggestion Idea: Would it be possible to have completed games not show the current rank of the players involved?

Specifics: In the code for a completed game, save the then current rank of all the players. As a possibility, the rank at the beginning of the game could be saved and then the rank at the end of the game could be saved. On the game finder screen for the completed games it would show the initial rank and an arrow pointing to the rank at the end of the game.

Why: This would help in looking back at someone's completed games to figure out how they play against players of a certain level. For example, if you look back at the early games of some of the high ranking players (JR, SkyT, poo-maker) it shows low level people beating the current conqueror and high level people: ie game 266414 where poo-maker lost to a private 10 months ago.

Yes and no. The avatar and signature would take a lot of memory to save, but this would only take two four digit numbers. You would really only need to save the score.

I suggested this back in the summer. It would be pretty much impossible to code retroactively, but should be relatively easy to do going forward. Here's the link to my original thread.
