Punishment

Postby loopinvariant on Sun Dec 09, 2007 10:35 am

* Concise Idea

I've come up with a way to punish deadbeaters and multis! (3/4 joking here).

* Suggestion Idea:

When someone merits punishment, lower the success rate of their dice by an amount and duration proportional to the offense/number of offenses. This is very delicate and may result in the loss of a number of players from the game until the correct balance is found.

* Specifics:

For each offense, a dice penalty (a reduction in max dice roll) and a duration is given.

Offense:

  • Warned multi: 5%, 1 week
  • Busted multi (first offense): 25% + 5% for each multi account, 1 week + 1 week for each multi account.
  • Busted multi (repeat offense): 50% + 10% for each multi account, 1 month + 1 week for each multi account. Yes this one is harsh.
  • Missed turn: 5% on next turn only
  • Missed turn (repeat offense in same game): 5% for game on second offense, 10% for game on third offense
  • Deadbeat: 10% on next game
  • Deadbeat (repeat offense) 10% + 5% for each previously deadbeat game, 1 week

* Why it is needed:

Because it is would be good to have retribution!

I agree. To the author get a social life, then you'll understand why people might, once in a while, miss a turn or accidentally deadbeat a game. Life happens, people die or get sick, and this is only a game. Family and friends first for me. :roll:

Im srry, but they just wouldn't play and I dont think they care to leave the other people waiting until the punishment is over.

No way. The way the site works now, it gets the dice results directly from random.org. The only thing it does is read the information so that it can load the proper dice images. Could you imagine the amount of complaints we'd receive if CC directly tampered with the dice and how they roll?

It was a joke expressing general frustration with the things mentioned. You all need to relax.

Sometimes things also happen, like my dog chewed up the wire to my mouse. It took me a day to go buy another mouse.

I know a way to avoid being disturbed by deadbeats!

Get yourself a premium membership, that way you can play a thousand games, and you won't even notice when somebody deadbeats.

I would like to see, a way that when someone is on your ignore list you can't join a game with them...

Because this way, if you put a deadbeat on ignore, you won't accidentally join a game with them again. I know that i don't check my ignore list every time I join a game to make sure, I'm not playing with someone on my ignore list.
