- Concise:
- CC Welcome committee:
- A group of people who are automated into a system which sends a PM to every new player from a random member of the group. It is intended to improve the "mentor" programme
- If we could code a system which pooled a group of people and automatically sent a PM (which each individual could write and would auto-generate the names etc) to every new signup, we could essentially offer a very advanced "welcome committee" to walk people through the first few games so they don't feel lost and deadbeat as much.
- The group would be based on opt-in with approval and would be subject to rules (ya can't flame a newbie - doesn't encourage them to stay ya know)
- Decrease in deadbeats (I think)
- Get more people involved in the community side of things
- Give people a network of friends
- give more structure to the "mentor" thread we have now.
- We have lots of new signups every day. I don't know how flooded each team member would be with PMs...obviously the more people we have the fewer you'd get....
- Upsides
If you don't know that deadbeats are a problem, then you've been living under a rock

Networks of people - someone whos name you know - is the single greatest binding force a site can have in my opinion.
Community is great.
Priority: Low
Possibility: not before phpBB3, maybe not at all. Don't hold your breath.
This is not an official to-do, this is me, as a member suggesting this. I'd love feedback

Have a good one
