[Suggestion] Assassin games and targeting changes

<Body>:I just experienced something rather odd...

I'm playing an Assassin game, right (link) and I eliminate Yellow. Apparently Yellow was Blue's target. Blue won.

Now I know how these games work, but why is it that when I take out someone else's target that they win?

Shouldn't the game reassign Blue a new target since he failed to get him before someone else, or knock him out of the game because he failed?

* Specifics: In assassin games, when a player is eliminated that is someone else's target either:
A) Reassign that player a new target
B) Knock out the player who failed to eliminate his target before someone else.

* Why it is needed: Because it sucks for everyone else when you make the wrong move in an assassin game and everyone loses, including yourself.

* Priority [1-5]: I'd give it a 3, simply because it's one of those annoying things that can ruin the fun factor.

* Did you check the To-Do list? Yes, but it may have been called something else.

yup

Seems reasonable to me...

Suggested before, and I'm pretty sure it's been rejected. I think I'd like them more if a person was accidently taken out then their target is moved. So Blue needs to take out Yellow, but yellow needs to take out red. If Green takes out yellow, then Blue's new target should be to take out red.

They both require a different kind of strategy that are both equally as "valid", so I'm happy with either. I don't play assassin too much anyway.

BTW, as for your loss, next time you should probably read the instructions thoroughly before going into a gametype about which you (apparently) don't know everything

still think there should be some change

Imagine how much more strategic you would have to play, if you had to protect your target from being finished off by anyone else... Seems much more challenging.

At the very least, if player one takes out player two, who happens to be player three's target, then player three should now be targeting player two's target, just so everyone has SOMEONE who wants to see them dead...

It has been suggested before, but it's actually on the To Do List.

Here are two threads about it:

The one from June 2007 - To Do List

And another one from February 2007

ta-da

Dang AA, you have that to-do list memorized; good call!

Personally, I like the other option as well, if someone else kills your target, you lose in some way, points, who knows what.

Mostly I like the idea of having to defend your victim from being finished off by others...

probably a bugger to program though.

I got lucky

My first assassin game, I won because someone made a mistake and eliminated my target. Now I know what not do...you learn from mistakes, yours as well as others.

i like it the way it is because theres more strategy involved. i was in an assasin game where i (red) had to kill green, who was weak but in the middle of blue. but blue had to kill pink who was in the middle of my territory. this way we both had to protect the weaker players inside our territory while trying to kill the other weaker player inside theirs. it made for an interesting game

It's on the To-Do list? Weird, I didn't see it.

Oh well, lock 'er down then.
