[Feedback Request] Speed time extensions

When speed games were launched, people asked for time extensions when you eliminate an opponent, because with potential cash-ins and deployments, those turns can drag on and be tough to complete in 5 mins.

Now that we have had speed games for some time, is there still consensus for this feature?

And if so, how much should we extend by? Keep in mind that we want to preserve the rush effect of a speed game i.e. we want slowpokes to run out of time

Thanks in advance!

definetly another 5mins. although i dont see te problem with going as low as three minutes for certain maps, larger maps really do need the time.

I think that getting the 2.5 minute extension each time you eliminate an opponent would work well. I think most people could get their armies deployed and attacking in that amount of time.

I'd say 3 minutes would be plenty of time.

I say 5 just because it makes it feel like by eliminating them you are taking their 5 minutes and making it your own.

i said 2.5 minutes because any less will be too short on the larger maps, i.e. world 2.1, aom, pearl harbor etc, and any longer will be too long for some of the smaller maps, i.e. doodle earth, classic, cairns coral coast etc.

i would rather the timer resets every time a move is made, the turns will be slightly longer but no1 can leave still

that will be abused...

how about it resets every time a territory is taken or a player starts their turn?

this stops the freestyle tactic and allows time to attack, resets the timer when some1 is killed (cuz you just took a territory) and i like it lol

just imagon, you made a game, someone joins who thinks it will be an half hour game, you begin fair an squar and then after you reach a set of cards and you are loosing you will do this: w8 nearly 5minuts then kill a terretory, then waite 5 minuts and kill a terretory, etc.

Somebody suggested you get something like a three second time extension every time you make a move... I like that suggestion.

Any possible way to extend the turn in this specific manner:

1st elimination in the turn = 4 minute extension
2nd elimination in the turn = 3 minute extension
3rd elimination in the turn = 2 minute extension
4th elimination in the turn = 1 minute extension

Possibly start it at 3 minutes and work your way down from there. That way the max amount of time in the turn is only 10 minutes.

^^ thanks, but that's a bit complicated for my tastes. so is any scheme involving getting more time each attack.

Based on poll results so far, you can tell that there is definitely enough support to back extending the time.

Either go with the results so far 12 v 9 in favor of 5 minutes. Or change the poll so that you are left with 2.5 v 5 minutes and restart (as there were 3 people at 3 mins who might switch to 2.5 (tie things up).

If you're going to implement it, it almost has to be five minutes (which is what I voted). Any sufficiently advanced escalating turn is going to require more than 2.5 mins per kill to be effective. Even with all autoattack, it takes precious seconds to advance and key up the next attack, especially if the attack is complicated and across several fronts.

i voted 5 mins - players are rarly eliminated so this won't slow down the game too much. It would be odd to get any other amount that 5 mins, considering thats how long you hv for your turn.

I am in favour of lowering the time you have to take your turn to 3 mins and also the time extension from my voted 5 to 3 mins.

Hope you get that....

I've always been in favour of making turn time limits longer in speed games. However, this would be good enough. 5 minutes more per elimination would actually make me play speed games

Who said CC is a democracy, my friend?

I don't know, I might go with 5 mins to appease more people... or... go with 2.5 mins this update and consider 5 mins for the next one after we have experience with 2.5 mins.

Well you can probably guess that all the people that voted for less than 2.5 minutes can be included in the 2.5 minute category as well.

i dont think you should get a time extension upon eliminating each player but a one time- time extension of perhaps 3 minutes. For any reason you deem fit. it would cure the problem of unnecessary losses because of a connection problem. certainly wouldn't be a speed game with up to 20-25 minutes of extra time.

i didnt go through all the posts so if this idea has already been suggested-- many apologies.
