it actually depends on what you consider bad. remember a bit of pixelization on a 6*6ft image isn't too bad because you're not gonna stare form 2 inches at it. a huge poster is meant to be looked at from at least 4-5 feet away and at that distance small jaggedness isn't noticeable.
also it all depends on how people made their files to start with. because i want to print my maps i start the files at 150dpi instead of the default value in photoshop which is lower (can't remember what value but i think 72) so at least in theory this should provide me with a better quality for enlarged images.
here is a version that's 2ft*2ft. it's not good for a poster but it's great for use as a cardboard to play on. it still has graphic issues in some places but nothing that can't be dealt with a gradient instead of solid here a small blur there, a smoothing of the bevel in some places and we have a nice image.
unfortunately i don't have enough space on my HDD to make anything bigger but you get the idea.
actually you won't get the idea because photobucket doesn't allow the upload of such big files
in case you guys know a place where i can put a 4724*4499 px file let me know
edit// i actually managed to upload a lesser quality version on photobucket. i think they don't care about the resolution but they do care about the file size. remember this is worse than the best quality i have on my pc and thus it has even more issues.
the image is still too damn big and sorry if it causes lag upon lading this page.
edit 2// sorry my bad photobucket automatically resized it to 1024*962
i can't upload big files
