Speed games

First let me say I love speed games, but i have found that while i enjoy the 5 mins between turns, I think there needs to be a way to refresh your 5 mins or extend them in some fashion.
Such as if I eliminate someone I get another 5 mins.
There is nothing worse than taking someone out, figuring what cards to cash, where to put them when you only have a minute left.
I know as well as the next guy you can plan for this and miss a card, but i would love to see speed games made just that little bit user friendly.

it can be much worse. i killed a guy cashed in killed another guy cashed the cards and when i hit deploy i ran out of time
45 troops lost plus my card for that turn. i almost lost that game.
multiple takeouts are almost impossible in speedgames.

As lack stated, a few enhancements to Speed Games are being considered for future updates, one of them being more time when you take out an opponent.

Ive always found five minutes to be enough but this would still be a good idea i think.

How about like 1.5 mins per attack. So everytime you click a button, you get 1.5 xtra minutes, no matter how long your move has been.

Similar to time added for taking out an opponent, more time added for taking over countries is up for a possible addition.

That's too much time. 1 attack doesn't take a minute and a half. Maybe 10 seconds per territory conquered, or an additional 2 minutes for a player killed?

Its generally not the attack that causes me the most frustration, its the multiple take out approach.
It is am intregal part of risk(not that this is affiliated) And I have now begun to avoid speed games because of it. And anyone who know me, knows how much I love my RT games

By how much should your time be extended when you take someone out... 1 minute? 5 minutes?

I think 5 minutes sounds ideal...as to take someone out in the first place, you have to do it in under 5 minutes...so any successive takeouts should give a max of 5 extra minutes, I'd suppose.

You don't think it would be more exciting to be rushed when going for a chain-reaction killing spree?

It's really more exciting to savor the thrill of victory in grand and elaborate style, hence I support the move to extend 5 minutes

with every elimination of player.
Note: I can accept 2 minutes and 30 seconds

as a compromise.

Perhaps Each player could have a fixed total alloted time in the bank (2hours per player perhaps). thereby each turn would not be limited to a set time but if the time-bank is exceeded the game is forfeit.

I second this one.

The speed chess idea was brought up in playtesting but is much more complicated to code.

5 mins when you eliminate someone sounds good.

Regarding the excitement and the thrill, I'm just saying 5 minutes should be max...but maybe 3-4 minutes.

this is my last hairball suggestion on this one Lack!
I am almost sure this suggestion is more complex to code too but i'll hide behind my ignorance:
Using exactly the same format as the existing Speed game- could you add the ability of the attacker to activate up 10 minutes of 'extra time' at any point in the game? ..
I suppose as previously suggested, an extra 5 mins activated on mid-turn cash.. would be easier and perhaps just as effective but a 10 min extension to all would give extra time for tough defensive decisions also.

I'm for extra time after attacks. I've lost a game because I got stuck on a dice screen twice and couldn't eliminate opponents in time. Bad luck that doesn't concern the dice (;)) shouldn't affect your game, in my opinion. I don't want to sound too whiny; this is the only thing I've ever been concerned about with the gameplay.

I know I made suggestions about bonus time for attacking countries long before speed games even came out
I like the 5 minutes for taking out an opponent, but I also like 10 seconds for each country conquered. Either one would work I think, not both.
