BBCode Player Tag

* Suggestion Idea: A new BBCode tag for [player][/player] that allows you to take you right to that persons profile

* Specifics: Instead of having to use the url of a players profile and then write something like this:
Code: Select all
[url=http://www.conquerclub.com/forum/profile.php?mode=viewprofile&u=96582]misterman10[/url]

I would write something like this:
[player]misterman10[/player] and it would take me to my profile

* Why it is needed: It would just make life easier. I know you can do this since it is one of the codes on another site. Just wondering if this will be possible with the new phpbb

phpbb 3.0 will make it easier to set up custom BBcode tags. We can do this along with the [game][/game] tag that was suggested ages ago.

There is a "profile" button right underneath your post, next to "pm"

Yeah true, but I think what MrMan is saying is that if you were in the cheating and abuse forum and were accusing a multi, you can put in [player]wicked[/player] and go to their profile without having to search the player in order to get to their profile. (hoped that made sense)

ya, something like that, or if you are referring to a certain player in flame wars or general discussion you could do that. Also, for tournament directors, they can create their list of players in the tourney using the [player][/player] and then it would be easy to pm messages

1- yes that made sense.
2- :shock: Wicked is a multi?!?!
3- in this scenario, the game number would be posted and from there you can easily see the player's profile by clicking their name.

edit: MrMan just posted like seconds before me...
