I'm not sure if this is where I should post this idea or not. One night on livechat a bunch of us were joking around about game options. The more I thought about it though...some of them might actually be interesting. We had a lot of ideas, but I'll stick with the 2 that stood out to me.
1. Decreasing cards option - I'm not sure how many armies the 1st card turn-in would be worth. Give some ideas. Yeah, I know it sounds weird.
2. 1 versus 5 games. One player is built up and has bonuses at the beginning of the game. Neutral armies placed between himself and the other team (consisting of 5 players). The other 5 must obviously gang up on the one strong player to eliminate him. Both the 1 strong player & the weak 5 players would have to battle through the neutral armies to get at each other.
*You could make the settings so that if the one strong player survives for x-amount of rounds, he wins.
I thought the 2nd option would especially be fun on the Siege Map.
Anyway, I'm not really serious about them. However, it would be fun to hear other peoples' ideas about them. There are obvious flaws, but over time, it could liven up the competition since these options are both non-traditional ways to play RISK.
