Suggestion: New column for expiration of turn on My Games

Postby Metaphore on Tue Aug 07, 2007 11:59 am

Suggestion:
Add a new column to the games list on My Games that shows the time current turn will expire.

Specifics:
Grease Monekyers can refine that to more dynamic displays, but the time of expiration would be the key.

Why?:
I have too many games and not enough time to play all turns in one sitting and often end up taking new turns and getting to expiring ones too late. And it takes too long to open each game to see how long I have. I'm sure I'm not the only one with this problem.

If you don't even have time to click on games to see how much time remains in your turn then perhaps you're playing too many games at once. I know, it's sacrilege, but I said it. There is such a thing as "too many games."

Blasphamey!!! Seriously though, couldn't we build an add-on for this without that?

I only have 21 games active but way too many other things going on...

Seriously though, couldn't we build an add-on for this without that?

It might be difficult without this parameter on the page. I'm not an expert on Grease Monkey, but I think opening each game to find out when the current turn ends might be a bit too time consuming, if possible at all.

That's not the issue here, keebs, if you have time to post gibberish like this shouldn't you be playing some more games?

ALSO, one of the reasons a person would buy premium is to play more games. This idea would make it easier for those who buy premium to keep track of all their games.

I think this is a great idea. Maybe it could be sorted by having the shortest amount of time for a games listed at the top of the page.

:D I was going to use my very first post on this forum (I have played 300 games until now) to propose exactly this!!!

Perfect idea, I have exactly the same problem.

just to move this suggestion up!!!

please, I often know that I might have only 30 minutes left on some games... but when I open the my games page, I only see that in about 40 games it's my turn... if I could see in all my games where it's my turn how much time I have left over I could start playing those with the least time on the counter....

WOULD BE TERRIBLY NICE!!!!!!!

uh, how long does it take you to take turns?
For me, its probably 20 minutes max to take 20 turns. If not a little less.

As much as I'd like this idea, you should really keep on top of your games, then you wouldn't have to worry about which ones are about to expire ;)

that depends soooo much on the game. it might take me 10 minutes to take 1 turn, if the game is world 2.1 where I want to take out a player spread over several continents....

in other instances it might take me 5 minutes to play 10 turns.... it just depends.

and since I do have a life besides CC it just would be nice to see which ones are the games where I have to move first when I get to a computer...

often, I get to the computer at 6pm, the kids are hungry and I would like to just take my turn in the few games which cant wait till 8:30 pm when the kids are in bed. So I would not have to klick on all 30 games where it's my turn.

it would make life more simple, and I would not miss my turns (cause in the case stated above, I might just NOT log on knowing I dont have the time anyhow to look at all the 30 games.... )
