Deadbeat counter???

Postby bigdunk206 on Wed Jul 18, 2007 2:22 pm

I have only been a member for a short time, but I have run into alot of deadbeating. I know it's a problem for everybody, and I was wondering if there was a way to get a "kicked from game for missed turns" counter added to the name bar so a deadbeater can be identifed quickly and avoided. This could cause a person to not deadbeat in the first place, which is what the goal would be. Anyone with thoughts on this matter please post.

Hi,

This is not something that could be handled by an Plugin or Addon, it would have to be a feature of the site, please check the Suggestions & Bug Reports forum to see if this has already been suggested and post your suggestion there if not. (remember to use the form from this post http://www.conquerclub.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=2202 when posting a suggestion)

Thanks
r.

Well apparently they ban people for dead beating a lot now. Still not sure how I feel about that.

No units granted for a missed turn and only 3 hours provided to take subsequent turns after missing the first in a game = yay.

I agree.

Here here. Either that, or implement one or all of the following:

1. Miss 3 turns and you're out of the game (I believe it's currently set at 4 turns).

2. Much like we have an automatically generated Scoreboard, we could have an automatically generated ranking of those who have been ejected from the most games due to missed turns.

3. Conversely, if we wish to keep it positive (glass half full), show a ranking of who takes the least time to make their moves.

4. Offer a 12-hour-per-turn option under Start A Game.

No, it is 3 turns.

Like that, the only problem is I don't know what lack does to run this site behind the scenes. If he has never tracked this information in the past then the best he could offer is to start keeping track, which won't help us much for a few months.

Again like it, but same problems as number 2.

Probably not going to happen because it decreases the value of infinite games in premium membership.

Good idea bigdunk, but I don't think it will happen. I put up a poll about this a while back and it didn't seem to interest too many people.

Here's the poll if you are interested.

I think the best idea would be a % of games deadbeated, as was suggested by alex_white101. If this could be done we could all put people who deadbeat on our ignor lists and the deadbeaters would soon be unable to enter any games. Also you might be able to have an option when you create a game to set the max deadbeat % to enter the game.

Not implementing a valid idea because it's "inconvenient" for premium users is not something I think this site should be doing.

There is already such a thing, its called feedback form. You write down who deadbeated, so others can see it too..
