please change freestyle games

Hello,
-------
at first i like freestyle game, they are funny and importent for a webgame.
They hold the gamespeed high and thats important not to get sleep.

But i think you should change them a bit.

Please lock them for other people at the moment one player is taking his move. Maybe indicate the locking with a yellow dot or such, to show other people that they could start their turn after the active player is ready.

Why the change is needed?
Specialy in teamgames i noticed, that some player are able to use game mechanics to get a big advantage.
If both teammates are online within the same time, one player could attack, while the other is deploying or fortifying for him. This gaves the attacking player the chance to atack twice.
In "normal" games you have to wait for your teammate to get the advantage of a deploying or a fortify -- and that fair for all.

If you lock other player, while someone is playing, it doesn't matter how long you have to wait for your teammate --- one hour or one second .. it make no difference -- important is, you dont have such a big advantage.

Look at http://www.conquerclub.com/game.php?game=623162 to see what i mean.

Greetings

Freestyle Games

A fix would be to switch to sequential games. This is the whole purpose of "freestyle". Hence the word "freestyle".

No! I mean not a fix of the game order, i mean to lock the game while other player are playing.

It make no sense to me, that there must be one more way to use the game mechanics to get an advantage.

It's on the ToDo list.

I still don't think it's a good idea though. The whole point of Freestyle is that people can go at any time; not just when no-one else is playing. The number of times that I have used the simultaneous movement thing to eliminate someone elses kill in Esc games is innumerable. Playing with your team-mate at the same time is one of the main advantages of Freestyle. If one team does it and the other dosen't then it is the other team's problem and they should organise themselves sufficiently to play at the same time.

The double-turn thing is the only real problem with Freestyle, but it could easily be solved with a rule that it is 24 hours from the time in which everyone can play.

If they are actually going to make a no simultaneous turns rule in Freestyle, could it at least be made into a seperate game-type? Pseudo-Freestyle or something similar.

i just found out in a two player game it is very easy to make your opponent miss a turn, this is stupid. as in a card game i can make my opponent miss a card as well as i get two back to back turns, this makes no sense. however until it is fixed it is a loophole i imagine many (including myself) will continue to use.

again freestyle means freestyle. it was people you take advantage wherever you can to win.

so you want a semi freestyle mode?

a semi-freestyle does sound interesting to me. there have been several occasions when i and another player were fighting, and i auto-attacked one of his territories only to find out that 2 seconds before, he fortified more armies there. i understand that this is a part of the gameplay, but that doesn't mean it isn't extremely annoying.

Dude, this is ConquerClub, not Risk, meaning the "regular" rules don't count for jack.

The ability to take advantage of freestyle games is the point of the freestyle game. Just because you may have gotten the raw end of the deal doesn't mean that you will never get the plus end, nor does your inferior skillz at planning your turns in conjunction with your partner's mean that people who know what they're doing should have to suffer.

In short: figure out how to play freestyle games and stop complaining, or just stop playing freestyle games and stop complaining. But, most importantly, STOP COMPLAINING

The problem with locking turns is that in rt freestyle games a player can grab a bonus and end their turn. Then it turns into a race to see who can hit start turn first. They can then do anything they want e.g. break other peoples bonuses with out them being able to respond.

Yes, but i think freestyle should have a bit more order than chaos, and thats what i would like to have. Freestyle like it is now (chaos) and "freestyle" like i think -- with locked moves.

For me its not a game to "take advantage wherever you can to win".
Its nonsense!!!
If most player would wait for the last second to move, only with the purpose that theier opponent will miss a turn, it would kill the game.

No, it means that when you do freestyle you should always be able to be online when the 24 hour mark is over. that way you can catch your opponants ofguard when they try the, run out of time and move again trick..

Ofcourse you dont need to wait with those that play regular, but you should be aware its a valid tactic inherent to freestyle and as such not easy to change. Ofcourse, like me, you could refuse to play freestyle. That would solve the entire problem...

And there is no compromise to that?
How could i know that people only like to win and don't like to have a nice game?

Because its conquerclub and most peeps try to win.
If you want a friendly game with only friend, upgrade to premium and make passworden games. give out the passwords only to peeps who do not use that particular tactic and everything is fine and dandy.
Thats the compromise you are looking for.
Give people a chance i say, dont let the system rule everything..lol.
have a nice day
