It seems to me that a lot of suggestions get shot down because Lack doesn't want to make the Start A Game page have too many options.
How about adding an advanced game creation page? Put all the obscure options there. For games that used advanced settings, CC could tell the players joining the advanced settings on another page, before they join, as not to clutter up the listing of games.
