Suggestions from new player

I have just a few possible suggestions at the moment...
1. How about "Insurrection cards" this is where when you hand in cards, that territory becomes yours with half the armies on it....
2. Non-preset continents....where you get additional armies per amount of connected territories...for example: if player occupies 4 connected, they would recieve 2 additional armies, 6 connected = 4 armies and so forth...

First idea probably wouldn't work but I like the second idea. Although whoever goes first may have a big advantage. Come up with something to remedy that and you may be onto something.
Also formify it.

that first one sounds insane... which may be awesome! : D, might stop people from being turtles. Might be horrible for large maps but shorter ones it would be a unique twist... very very unique.
The Second idea does sound awesome, but instead of just two or three being connected, it should be a higher number of them connected before you get the bonus... Say 5 or 6 connected and then every two or three more that you have connected would give additional boosts. This seems like it might be hard to code for.

I was pretty "toasted" when submitting the above suggestions.....thanks for the responses.....still think the insurrection "option' could be added to the choices of cards where a player chooses one of his/her cards belonging to an enemy as an insurrection when turning in....maybe put in a rule it has to be adjoining at least one of his/her own territories....or even choose to spend 3 armies for 1 roll for technology.....such as "double card value"....or extra defense roll...or douible offence roll....but have to roll a 6 for the 3 armies and then, and only then roll for the technology if a six is rolled....
