final fast overview of game

In Civilization (1,2,3) you can see at the end of a match a fast overview over time of the lands that were conquered by the players.
Wouldn't it be nice if this gimmic would be shown here after the end of the game ?
Now we get to see only the final stand (of hundreds and thousands of games) which isn't particularly informative. and of the game log it is difficult to interpret the going-on strategy.
As the fast overview will cost more on memory (and a special software development?) I can imagine this gimmic would only be operational for games finished the last 2 ? 3? months. And only the step at the beginning of each round.
