Fog of War

Postby sadistic on Mon Nov 13, 2006 7:06 am

I read the Suggestions Box and didn't see anywhere the option for blind maps. They have blind maps at dominategame.com.

It may be complicated to implement on this site though because this site offers team functions and the other site doesn't (I prefer teams).

The way blind maps work is you can only see neighboring territories to the ones you own and all the rest are greyed out. It adds an interesting new element of surprise to the game.

fog of war

Postby sadistic on Mon Nov 13, 2006 1:27 pm

Nice! I'm seriously considering getting a premium account for Christmas. I just wish that they'd do something about freestyle team games so the same team can't get away with taking 2 turns in a row (at the start of a round).

It's a really neat idea being able to play your turn at the same time as your teammate.

It just creates unbalance when 1 team can make two turns in a row though.

"fog of war" gameplay

Postby johloh on Wed May 02, 2007 5:48 pm

The idea is you can only 'see' the armies of countries that are next to countries you control (ie countries you can attack). so say youre holding australia in classic and its all you control, you cant tell what is going on in south america...

does that description make any sense? it does in my head anyway...I was thinking it might be an interesting type of gameplay.

I have no idea what the priority is? 2?

New game type: Blind Map

Postby Wild_Tiger on Sun May 20, 2007 12:53 pm

I was thinking of a game type I seen before on other sites and which was quite fun.

With blind map you will only be seeing the armies and owner of cities from your countries and the ones bordering them.

Though you will be able to see some extra through the game log.

flame away! =)

as its been said i might as well add to it. game log details would have to be hidden as otherwise particularly bored people could look through the log and figure out stuff if they have enough time. its either a total blind game or not at all.
