advance all/ advance none button

I would like to have a button on the attacking screan that says advance all or advance none.

SPECIFICS: if you know before you attack that you dont want to advance any armies or if you want to advance them all It can be annoying to scroll through the drop menu and scroll all the way to zero. It would be much easier to just press a button that says advance none before you hit attack.

proirity-1 not needed but ould make gameplay faster

it sounds like everyone wants to have his very own buttons.

this way we will need a menu with 30 buttons you will have to scroll down.

please not too much buttons...

It wouldn't be to many buttons… It would be three buttons…

[##] [Advance] [Advance all] [Advance none]

Not that cluttered really… I like the idea BTW.

Suggestion: Add "No Advance" Button After Conquer

Concise description:
  • Add "No Advance" button after conquer
  • Possibly add "All Advance button as well

Specifics:
  • Add "No Advance" button after a territory is conquered to go next to the "Advance" button
  • This will not affect gameplay, but battles when you have over 20 troops or so, and don't want to advance your whole army, the dropdown box is annoying
  • Possibly add an "All Advance" button as well, and leave the dropdown for selectable advances.

This will improve the following aspects of the site:
  • Most of the advances in the game are usually all or none, so optimizes the interface
  • Improves interface for anyone playing on a small or mobile platform (ever try to do the dropdown on a Windows Mobile PocketPC? one word, ug.)
  • Reduces the amount of clicking required to play. (good for us Carpal people)
  • Possibly improves speed games by requiring less movement to advance

Get clikable maps, then just right-click on the territory you attacked from to advance none.

I would like this, he makes a good point that 90% of the time its all or nothing and would be a small but nice advancment

I try to suggest things that can be done relatively easily in the game engine, and are not exclusive, meaning you have to get an addon.

I know Lack would eventually like to make "clickable maps" a feature of the site, so I'm not sure how keen he would be on coding this interim fix.

I use BOB, but we can't necessarily kill any idea just because it's in an addon. There is no guarantee that everyone uses/can use the same addons.

There are lots of things that the addons do that Lack may not implement for various reasons, so I think it's best to suggest them, and judge the idea based upon it's merits and how it can be put into the engine.

Another comment about clickable maps. Part of my suggestion is to reduce movements needed. Clicking and then Right-clicking is essentially the same movement "cost".

I have played with clickable maps too, so if you have the addon, more power to you. I don't think this suggestion is exclusive.

Firstly, like andy said... if lack is already making clickable maps part of the site (which he has the code for already), then it is pointless to code this.

And if you get on there, I am sure it will be uploaded quickly, seeing as 1/3 of the things on there are from 2006

very convenient idea - its really annoying to have to use that extra nanocalorie to move the scroll wheel for us lazy asses

I like this idea I hate having to look for zero or some obscure number like 37

(for those of us that try to win at freestyle without CM (which I know is almost impossible, but this isn't the place for that)) Scrolling up to hit "0" and pressing "Don't advance" could be the difference between a win and a loss.

As I stated above, for those of us that have Carpal, it makes can often make it less enjoyable to have to do what can be considered extraneous twitch movements. Most of the Advances are going to be All or None. Especially if you have 25+ troops, and have to go up to the top of a drop down box if you are not advancing.

I'm not that lazy that I need to save nanocalories.

You could hold your hand over the "Home" button which selects 0.

This is a good idea for pocket PC's and speed games. It would take less than an hour to code. And don't say "get CM", because having to rely on an add-on that doesn't come with the game is stupid. Once lack makes CM a site feature, then it can be taken off.

Oh geez, I certainly hope not...I despise clickable maps. It's one of the reasons I play here rather than some other sites.

I like it the way it is.. another button just makes another mistake waiting to happen.. "OOPS!! I meant to click advance all not advance none." At least the way it is makes you think about what you are doing as a two step process..

Just my two cents...

Cheers,

CH...

I wonder if the best option might be to provide for an optional button that could be made visible for those that wish it.

Don't force anyone into anything, but make it available.
