Suggestion: New Team Rules

I'd like to make the following suggestion as a more 'team' based team game.

1) Teammates cannot attack each other.
2) Continents owned by a team will provide army bonuses to that team. The army bonus will be provided to the first team player at the start of each round.

I'd be happy to offer my programming skills to implement the above rulings so they work. But what I am interested is for more experienced players to pick holes in the above rulings - or provide feedback.

Ha - replying to my own post.

Feedback:

Problem with rule #1 is that if you need to launch an attack from a territory that your teammate owns then you're screwed, whereas under current rulings you could just stomp over your teammates forces.

Answer: Hmm.... maybe allow teammates to abdicate their territories to each other?

No.

Why changing some perfectly good rules?

Ummmm , what if ur team mate has a country in the continent u r going after?????? u never get that bonus and let the opposing team win ??!!!

Better say, instead of not letting teammates to attack each other
when a guy is attacking a team mate a message flashes before he can attack that this is ur team mate , in games i have played ppl (my team mates) attack me saying sorry after it they didnt know it was double... so a message before attacking a team mate is a good idea , but not attacking at all ?? CRAZY

i like the rules as they are, tho it annoys the hell out of me when your partner leaves one on a country for you to take, and that one army goes on a 6 streak and takes loads of your armies. its just deoressing your partner would treat you that way.........

Perhaps some kind of function where attacking a teammate limits the number of armies you can lose to say....no more than 3 before you automatically get the territory. Very flawed idea I know, but then, I have been frustrated with needed to get through a teammate just to get hammered so after getting through him the tactic is useless anyways.

Most of this has already been shot down, and Rejected.

Because the fact that you have to destroy your teammates territories to receive continent bonuses is in my opinion flawed.

compared to other sites, these are the absolute best team rules ever made...and not being able to attack your teamate is just silly...sorry, but it is...its not flawed....the game would be decided by the drop if you did it that way....might as well flip a coin...having to decide when to kill your teammate and when not to is half of the strategy...

I give up.

You guys all seem blinded by your devotion to this game to understand my point.

Perhaps you should wait until you have more than 1 game completed before making any judgements?

Haha.

Well if you consider my experience with board games and other similar strategy games is limited to what you see on this sight - then you are truly blinded by your devotion to this game/site.

It's not that we are blinded, we see more flaws in your suggestion than our current arrangements. :)
