Eliminate a player for missing 4 of 5 turns

Postby rogower on Sat Jul 16, 2011 3:11 pm

I played a speed game the other night where this guy would miss two turns, then play, miss two turns, then play, etc., etc. People got bored and quit. Very lame and it seemed intentional. Why not eliminate a player for missing 4 of his/her previous 5 turns? Such a player is clearly a non-participant, for all intents and purposes. Nobody likes playing with such a player and such a player is seemingly not particularly interested in being an active participant.

Agreed. This type of player takes the enjoyment out of a game, because you sit around waiting for them to take thier turn, so the game can move forward.

In a Speed Game you should eliminate for missing 3 turns period.

I think it would be a good suggestion to make another rule in missing turns during a game.

Beside the rule of being kicked out for missing 3 consecutive turns, it would be good to kick players out for missing 5 turns in total during a game.

Missing 5 turns won't happen often, but it can be good for games that are a stalemate. In the end people that don't miss may turns will be awarded as turnmissing opponents are being kicked out.

I like the miss 5 and get kicked.

I recently had a casual trips with an opponent that missed 2 - came back missed 2 more - came back - missed again. They lost only due to all his missed turns (and him cluelessly dropping his piles of deferred on himself and his pard missing an important turn) but it was ridiculous. 5 days - 120 hours...

some games last for years and I think it would be a bit harsh to be kicked from a game after that long for missing 5 turns in total.
I prefer the original idea, missing 4 turns out of 5.

for the games that do go 100+ rounds where people are more likely to miss in the long haul, maybe the could implement it so that they can miss 5 out of every one or two hundred turns

Any chance that this rule gets implemented? I will say that I do not like the idea of booting a player who misses five total turns at all since some games can last for a long, long time. But four out of your last five turns missed is a different story. Nobody really wants to play with somebody who plays this way.
