List # of games user has been kicked from for deadbeating

Like the title says, I think this would be a useful statistic. It's a real pain entering a game without knowing that one or two of the players are chronic deadbeaters. Please list the number of games each player has deadbeated out of on the user profile pages.

I'm curious - why would anyone vote no on this? Unless they're a deadbeat that is.

Well it would have to be a % out of last 100 games because some players have played 1000+ games and have deadbeated out of 10 more than someone who only played 100

So a % is a good Idea but out of the last 100 games because I deadbeated out of 4 games a while back I wouldn't want to be punished now for my intenet problems 7months back

Xayath is right it won't help us until we can specify what kind of people we want to play

Not fair to the "other" players? By "other" i guess you mean deadbeats. If someone has an emergency, all they need to do is mention it in the chat. I had internet problems a couple days ago and missed a turn in a few games. I made sure to type an apology/explanation in the chat of those games. If someone misses a turn and takes the time to do this, i can see that at least they are conscious of the imposition to the other players. If i have an emergency that causes me to miss 3 turns (highly unlikely) i would not expect to collect armies for all those turns - that is just stupid. But to not want a person's record to be posted, cmon that's not unfair to anyone but deadbeats - maybe you could clarify for us who you meant by "the other players".

You wouldn't really be punished unless you happen to do it a lot. If you have to drop out of a few games because of an emergancy, than that's fine, but if you are chronically deadbeating, then I think that people have a right to know that before getting into a game with you. I also think that a percentage is a good idea, because if I have played 200 games and had to deadbeat 10 of them, then that's no big deal. If you have only played 20 games and deadbeating 10 of them, that 50% of all your games, and that is not just bad, and people have a right to know without going through each of your games to find out.
In heaven... Everything is fine, in heaven... Everything is fine, in heaven... Everything is fine... You got your things, and I've got mine.

Exactly. The point is that other players deserve to know.

A percentage rating does sound like the best way to go, in order to prevent newbies from unfairly getting a bad rep. Perhaps it could be color coded?

0%
1%-5%
6%-10%
11%-15%
16%-25%
26%-33%
34%-49%
50%+

you can see for yourself if you feel the need. Just take a look at their recent games.

Besides, people deserve to know they are playing against family members too. Since when are you pro- players need to know? There is noting about this in the rules...lol

this wont be implemented, but the percent idea is actually pretty good....

there really isnt room for another number...but if there was a deadbeat number next to the feedback number...it would not only warn players if there were deadbeaters...but possibly inspire players to not deadbeat as much

But I still think it's useless until we can say who we play against like we don't want to play against people with more than 50% games deadbeated or less than 100 games

Suggestion about deadbeats...

Postby jdfogerty on Sun Mar 11, 2007 3:12 pm

Listen I agree that the percentage thing is a great idea. It would let those who want to seriously play games figure out if they really want to get involved with a person that is a chronic deadbeater. Now you have to assume that everyone that takes the time to look has a minimal amount of common sense. So they would be able to see a "deadbeater" that has a fifty percent missed game rating out of six games and a fifty percent deadbeater out of thirty games are two totally different cases. Since the six game player might still recover and become a decent player. But the thirty game deadbeater shows that he for whatever reason has been unable to correct his problem. We all know how it feels to be constantly waiting around for people to play and then get let down when they miss their turn just to have them do it again and again. It messes up the whole game, changing the way the game plays out most times. And on team games it screws the team mates left to fend for the rest of the game. We can all decide for ourselves who is really bad and not worth playing with, and who is recoverable. LET'S LET THE PLAYERS DECIDE ONCE THE STAT IS THERE TO OBSERVE!
Plus I think a way to salvage any hurt feelings about this great added stat is that you put some kind of way into it that the dead beat stats can be challenged for a certain amount of time after being kicked out of the game. Maybe an email sent out to other players in that particular game that cast a vote on whether or not they think the player in question deserves the negative stat. Then a majority of the votes that agree or disagree with the decision to gauge whether it sticks or not....? That part is not what I definitely think should happen but a mere suggestion. All in all though, I think the stat should be added.

I agree with just showing a percentage near the feedback form, or at least show this stat in the feedback area and color code the feedback numbers.... That way it really isn't taking up more space.
