Newbie deadbeats

Newbie players (the ones with the question mark) should be discharged from games if they miss the first or second turn of a game, or any two turns in a row.

At the moment they have the same default rules as a more experienced player. But in my experience lots of games are delayed from the get go by new players who sign up, and maybe place their troops, but then never show up again. If there are three of them, for example, then the first three turns of a game will take nine days. I think a fair balance between new players and the others is to insist that for their first game they play the first two turns, and then only miss at most one turn after that.

How will this improve the site?

It will improve the site by reducing the amount of time we spend waiting for new players who were only ever on the site for half an hour to sign up to games they will never play.

Elswick.

Not going to happen. This has been suggested before, and has been rejected as this is a major deter to New Players who actually missed a turn for a real reason.

I agree that you could have just joined and missed 2 turns for whatever reason. Also, why does it matter how long your turn takes unless you don't have premium, in which case you are playing for free anyways.
