Not a good idea. If we find somebody to be guilty of multiple accounts we will bust them right then. Why wait and give them the chance to join more games so they can cheat more honest people out of points?

What does this mean? What moderator or multi hunter isn't fair and impartial?

Xayath wrote:Establishing a standard for evidence presented that assures that the case against the accused is reliable and is in no way merely just misunderstanding or the result of contrivance
We ask that people who are accusing someone of multis have some evidence to back it up and to fill out the correct form. The mods won't share their evidence obviously, but most of the time we do not rely on the accusers evidence to bust someone.

All this would take is someone who has a good command of the language used and is willing to hear the case.
Yeah, we already have this. After someone gets busted they are sent an email to which they can appeal their punishment.

No thanks.

Xayath wrote:Currently i have seen a lot of "busting" in the complaints forum but i have never seen the accused given time to defend themselves. This is not right.

Basically i propose that before an accused person's sentance be carried out that person should be given a reasonable chance to defend themselves in front of the communtity.

This would involve:

Alerting the accused of the accusation. Several times it seems that people are accused and punished before they even know anything happened.

Providing a fair and impartial moderator. I have not seen this implemented in any sence.

Establishing a standard for evidence presented that assures that the case against the accused is reliable and is in no way merely just misunderstanding or the result of contrivance

And finally allowing a situation in which someone whose believes that their account has been falsely accused can present evidence to clear their name, even after suspension or banning. All this would take is someone who has a good command of the language used and is willing to hear the case.

People should always be given the right to exonerate themselves. I would be more than happy to attend to this problem. Justice should be universal and often that takes risk.

Priority 3

Were you busted recently?

Interesting proposal. The problem with it is, we can't divulge the evidence to the community w/o divulging certain techniques. Difficult cases that are not clear cut are discussed among the multi hunters and admin. Everyone is given a chance to appeal. I've heard several accused try to talk their way out of it, and most are found to be lying. Do a search for "levon" in the forum for one case.

Cant you somehow stall them from joining games intill the "trial" is over... this would stop them cheating other out of games and give them a chance to defend themselfs..

ive had a good plan for a while now so here i got:

when they go to join a game a pop up with a link to the cheating forum is provided the pop will urge them to enter this forum and begin to defend themselfs.

Im not the smartest kid ever and lacks perfectly able team of mods can improve and make this a more smoother idea... but please i think this would be vital to have...

Idea's please....

We do, we ban them and let them finish out their current games. And they can appeal through the contact email. There is no trial though, just an investigation, a bust, and possibly an appeal.

Yes but some people like me dont bother to read email as 99% of it is worthless unless you actually are emailing people, but everyone basicly uses IM's now. Will this pop up when you go to join a game this will ensure you as a website are giving them more % chance of apealing and i know this is a bit of a luxuray, but maybe it might hit a lightbulb is lacks talented head and spring some idea's up...

Anyway just a though, thanks AK.

We have to balance fairness with efficiency. If there were more appeals or trials we would get so bogged down, only a small percent of multis would get busted. I think our system is fair enough as is.

I do apologise so far i had not seen such things. Wicked your comment explains the situation best and i thank you. i would however point out that speech in game is a inconsistant indicator of guilt as many are young players a mistake in verbage could confuse the issue entirely. but anyways i have made my suggestion and been given the answer i am satisfied

As a final note it seems as if more should be said than just that the person has violated a rule and therefor is s/b, it seems on the surface to be a little to arbitrary. i dont have any suggestions but more seems to be needed. i dont know.......
