Auto Logging

Is it possible to incorporate into the site a feature that would automatically log a users information (in the chatlog) when they log in and take a turn on another persons account? Sitting for another player is absolutely imperative to this site but, I think we all agree that it gets abused far more often than admitted. Something like this would definitely cut down on that significantly since one would not be able to remain anonymous.
It would also make pretty tough on the multi's of the world to get away cleanly.
Thoughts?

This seems like an outstanding idea, and should be pretty easy to implement.

IP addressing, for one.

Family members in the same home will frequently (though not necessarily) have the same IP. Co-workers could potentially have the same IP.

How would this be able to tell the difference between a sitter and someone who logs in from multiple places. ie home work and on there phone.

I have no idea. I just thought it might be an interesting topic for discussion and a nice addition if possible, to help stem the account/multi abuse problems.

A better solution would be an account sitting system, which is what I am assuming NS hinted towards is in the works (also note that I'm not sure thats what he was talking about, only speculating).

Good point. It would require the system to know that two IP addresses would apply to the same person...which then opens the door back up for the cheaters.

The current one, agreed. But I believe blakebowling was referring to a "potentially better one".
